Guard suspected in Kuvempu house theft

Police suspect the role of a single person in the theft that took place at the ancestral-house-turned memorial of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu at Kuppalli in Thirthahalli taluk.

Circumstantial evidence points to the role of one of the security guards, police said. CCTV footage released by the police show a man whose face is covered with a lungi trying to damage the items inside the memorial with a long stick. Another footage shows the uncovered face of the man who appears slim and aged around 50 years. Superintendent of Police Ravi D Channannavar said that only one man was involved in the crime. He said that the police would arrest him soon. Meanwhile, the district police have announced a cash prize of Rs 10,000 to anyone providing information about the suspect.
