While the entire Samajwadi Party (SP), including its supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, strongly defending Bollywood star Aamir Khan’s remark on intolerance, Mulayam’s daughter-in-law Aparana Yadav questioned the film star’s `patriotism.

Aparna, who is wife of Mulayam’s son from his second wife, said in her Facebook post that Amir had failed to teach patriotism to his wife despite donning the roles of patriots and freedom fighters in the movies.

“Despite donning the roles patriots in movies like Rang De Basanti and Mangal Pandey, Amir could not teach patriotism to his wife”, Aparna said in her post on the social networking site on Wednesday.

“It is now established..... Amir is only an actor”, Aparna’s post said. “It was our mistake that we had high expectations from you (Aamir)”, she remarked further.

Aparna’s remarks on Amir ran contrary to the stand taken by Mulayam and his party and also the ministers in the Uttar Pradesh government.

Others offer help
While Mulayam’s younger brother Shivpal Singh Yadav offered Aamir a safe stay in UP if he so desired, Uttar Pradesh  Minister Azam Khan wrote a letter to the film star pledging his whole hearted support to him. Mulayam also advised the Union government to speak to Aamir to address his concerns.
