Woman complains of rude behaviour by ASI on Twitter

A woman took to Twitter, a micro-blogging webiste, after an assistant sub- inspector behaved rudely with her near Residency Road in the early hours of Saturday.

The woman posted in the social network site that she, along with her friends, was waiting for a cab near a gate of a building near Residency Road. Venkatesh Gowda, an ASI attached to the Ashok Nagar police station, approached them and asked them to leave the place as it was late night.

She mentioned in the post that the cop wanted to know why she had not got her own car and, abused her.

As soon as she posted the incident on Twitter, the matter came to the notice of the police top brass. They asked a senior police officer to conduct an inquiry into the incident and submit a report.

 “Also, we have asked the victim to give a detailed statement of the incident. Based on the report, an action will be taken against the Assistant Sub-Inspector, added the police.
