Speed governor tenders: HC refuses to interfere

Last Updated 03 December 2015, 08:41 IST

The High Court on Wednesday dismissed the petition filed by Autograde International Private Limited, a Kerala-based speed governor manufacturing company which had sought directions to allow it to sell speed governors in the State.

The petitioner had approached the court seeking directions to quash the public notice issued by the State government on August 29, 2015 and an endorsement on September 11, 2015 on the eligibility for tender conditions. The petitioner has stated that the government was conducting a time-bound selection process which had the effect of eliminating the petitioner and preventing petitioner from selling the speed governors in Karnataka.

The petitioner has contended that despite conforming to the requirement of Rule 118 of the Central Motor Vehicle rules, the company was not allowed to sell speed governors in the State.

Justice Anand Byrareddy dismissed the petition stating that the court will not interfere in the matter with regard to the conditions that have been laid down by the State government.
