Drug trafficking gang busted, three Nigerians among 9 caught

Delhi Police claimed to have busted a gang of international drug syndicate with the arrest of nine men, including an Afghan and three Nigerians, and recovered 6.425 kilo heroin, two kilo opium and a kilo alprazolam worth Rs 7 crore in the international market from their possession, said police.

According to police, the accused were identified as Harjinder Singh, Ubah Casmir Amobi, Abu Bakr, Mohd Akhtar, Shabir Ahmed Bhat, Harjinder Singh, Ezeh Chinedu Joseph, Ugo Geoffery Franklin and Hazi Imamudin.

Police said acting on a tip-off about delivery of heroin at Burari Chowk, a trap was laid.
When the consignment of heroin exchanged hands, Mangal and Harjinder Singh were apprehended.

During interrogation, Mangal disclosed the syndicate history and other culprits were subsequesntly arrested.
