A day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Dhordo Tent City in the white Rann of Kutch, Border Security Force recovered an abandoned Pakistani boat in Kutch district.

Nothing suspicious was found in the boat found near Koteshwar and no one was apprehended in the incident. Modi will be in Dhordo Tent City to attend the 50th all India DGPs conference from December 18-20.

The venue is about 175 kilometres from the international border India shares with Pakistan. Sources revealed that the search in the area is “still going on.”

Discovery of the boat is a major source of worry for the security forces since they declared 7500 square kilometre area surrounding the venue “no entry” zone for civilians from December 14.

Security has been so tight that everyone other than those with entry passes is stopped at least 15-20 kilometres from the venue.

Central agencies have also said to have issued notice to a television channel for entering the venue three days ago and beaming footages of the place where Prime Minister Modi is expected to stay.

The Prime Minister is likely to arrive at Dhordo village, 80 kilometres from the district headquarters Bhuj, on December 18 evening and leave the venue on December 20 afternoon.
