Depressed over friend's death, man ends life

 A 45-year-old electrician ended his life unable to bear the grief of his friend’s death in Hennur.

According to police, Albert was shattered after he received the news of his friend’s death on December 25. The latter had hanged himself owing to depression. He was alone in his house after his wife, Mary, went to a church for Christmas mass. He was found hanging dead in the house after his wife returned home. Albert had married recently.

The family members told that Albert was depressed following the death of his friend. Hennur police have registered a case.

In another case, Ananth Kumar, 30, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a building on 18th main road in Tilak Nagar.

A native of Chitradurga, Kumar had moved to city a couple of months ago. He was employed at bakery shop, which shut down the business a month ago, said the police.

Ananth did not wake up even after 10.30 am on Monday. He was rushed to a nearby hospital by his friends but was declared dead on arrival.

The cause for Ananth’s death is unknown and the police have suspected it to be suicide. However, they have decided to wait for the post-mortem report for further action.
