JOIN USDhaatu Puppet Theatre will organise Dhaatu International Puppet Festival from January 1 to 4 at JSS Auditorium in Jayanagar 8th Block. The entry for the festival is free.
On the sidelines of a curtain raiser held on Tuesday, Anupama Hoskere, founder and director of Dhaatu, said a parade will be held on January 1, 2015 from Dhaatu bus stop at K R Road till JSS Auditorium.
The 1.4-km long walk will showcase the grandeur of puppetry and people from all walks of life can participate in it, she added.
“The aim of the festival is to bring back puppetry to society. Karnataka has beautiful forms of puppetry. People, especially children, should come forward to learn the art. We have received good response for this art form world over. This year, there will be international participants as well,” she said.
