Four armed suspects in Army fatigues kidnapped the SP of Gurdaspur District in Punjab along with two of his associates late on Thursday.

The SP and his associates were traveling in an MUV when they were stopped by the suspects near Dinanagar, close to the Pakistan border, and were overpowered at gun point. The injured SP, Salwinder Singh, and his associates were later thrown out of the car. A case was registered on Friday and a massive manhunt has been launched.

Possible terror angle is also being probed as the suspects were armed with an AK-47-like weapon.

The SP claims that they were stopped by the suspects while they were returning after paying obeisance at a shrine on Thursday night. One of the associates was attacked with a sharp-edged weapon.

The mystery further deepened after the police found the body of a driver in an abandoned Innova in a nearby area.
