New Year party turns sour, friends stab man to death

A New Year eve party turned sour when a group of friends stabbed one of them to death at RBI Layout in JP Nagar seventh phase in the early hours of Friday.

According to the police, the deceased has been identified as Santosh, 27, a native of Sakleshpur in Hassan district.

He was stabbed to death by his friends Manoj, Deepak and Pawan. They all hail from Sakleshpur and had come to City a couple of years ago. All four worked for different cable operators.

On Thursday night, they consumed liquor and were celebrating the New Year. Around 1.30 am, Santosh and Deepak started a heated argument over work-related issue. Deepak, along with Manoj and Pawan, stabbed Santosh with a knife, in the latter’s chest.

A profusely bleeding Santosh collapsed on the ground. He was rushed to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Deepak called up Santosh’s friend, Rao and narrated to him the incident. Rao informed the police who arrested the trio. A case has been registered at the Subramanyapura police station.
