Man dies in car-bike collision

Two persons were killed under KR Puram and Madiwala traffic police limits in separate road accidents.

In the first incident, a 35-year-old man died after a car rammed into his bike near Battarahalli junction in KR Puram in the early hours of Friday.

The police have identified the deceased as Ramji, a resident of Hoodi who was working as a security supervisor in a private company.

Around 12.30 am, he was on his way home and while trying to cross the road near Battarahalli junction, a speeding car rammed into him.

The two-wheeler was dragged for about 30 metres along with the car. The leakage of petrol from the bike’s fuel tank resulted in the two-wheeler catching fire, said the police.

The public who witnessed the incident shifted Ramji to a nearby hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. They informed the police, who rushed to the spot along with the Fire and Emergency personnel. The fire was doused and the police seized the car whose driver had fled the spot by abandoning it, added the police.
70-yr-old pedestrian killed

In another incident, a 70-year-old pedestrian was killed on the spot when a two-wheeler knocked him down near Bommanahalli on Hosur main road on Thursday.

According to police, the deceased has been identified as D Charan Das, a retired government employee. He was residing in an apartment in Bommanahalli. Around 7.30 pm, he was trying to cross the road to go to a medical shop, when a two-wheeler knocked him down.

Das suffered severe head injuries and died on the spot while Umesh, who was riding the bike, was also injured and was shifted to a hospital.

Both cases have been registered in the respective police stations and investigation is being carried out.
