'Government has responded to aspirations of public'

District In-charge Minister K Abhayachandra Jain said the schemes, implemented by the Congress-led State government, are reaching the needy.

Speaking after inaugurating the new building of Badriya Masjid in the town on Sunday, he said the government, headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, has responded to the aspirations of the public. Programmes like Anna Bhagya and Ksheera Bhagya have been reaching the real beneficiaries, thereby increasing the credibility of the government, he said.

The minister lauded the efforts made by Beary community for popularising education in the community and added that Madrasas should provide general education, along with religious education in order to develop the community further. The community has laid a good example for hard work. The government will provide all possible help for the community, Jain said.

Tolerance needed
MLC Motamma said education helps human beings to be economically stable. What human race needs is tolerance, not intolerance, she remarked.

Motamma called upon people of the community to utilise the benefits of the programmes of Minority Development Corporation.

MLA B B Ningaiah said many mosques in the taluk need renovation. A delegation, which has met the chief minister, has requested a grant of Rs 2.75 towards the repair of such mosques, Ningaiah added.

Children are taught about peace and social harmony at Arabic schools. Also, they are given the knowledge on Quran so that they lead a life of values, said District Khazi Twakha Ahmed Musliar.

Badriya Masjid President M A Hamabba, Religious Scholar K P Abdul Jabbar Musliar Mittabail, Jalaluddin Tanjal Dua and others were present on the occasion.
