Four members of an inter-state gang were arrested by the Central Crime Branch (CCB) police when they were trying to sell diamond worth Rs 1.14 crore in the City on Saturday.

The arrested have been identified as Shinojh, a native of Kochi, Ravindra, from Kozhikode, Nikhil and Vijay, both from Kannur.

The police have seized a 10.2-carat diamond and six mobile phones from the suspects.
Acting on a tip-off, the CCB police, who went in the guise of customers to a hotel on Brigade Road, caught the four red-handed.

It was found during the interrogation that they had stolen the diamond from Kerala and were trying to sell it off in the City, said the police.
