Chit fund scam: CBI grills OCA secy

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday interrogated Ashirbad Behera, the powerful secretary of the Odisha Cricket Association (OCA), in connection with the multi-crore chit fund scam in the state.

If sources are to be believed, the premier investigating agency had summoned the top cricket official to know more about OCA’s financial links with a number of state-based chit fund companies currently under CBI scanner.

The OCA had organised Odisha Premier League (OPL), a cricket tournament on the lines of IPL, for two consecutive years in 2011 and 2012. Several chit fund companies had actively taken part in the event.

Artha Tatwa (AT) group was the principal sponsor of the tournaments besides owning a team.
