Train derailment: Rly personnel charge-sheeted

The South Western Railway (SWR) has served charge sheet on its staffers for dereliction of duty in connection with the derailment of the Bengaluru-Ernakulam Intercity Express train between Anekal Road and Hosur Station on February 13, 2015.

A K Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, South Western Railway, Bengaluru, told Deccan Herald: “As per the procedure followed in such cases, the Railways has filed a charge sheet against the staff members concerned.”

“We also want the staff to explain their version, which is also a part of the procedure. Action will be initiated based on the findings of the inquiry committee. I expect the whole process to be wrapped up by the next three months,” he said. Agarwal stated that if the committee has skipped any procedure, the accused can approach the court.
