The striking nurses of the Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) have decided to sort out their differences with the hospital management.

The nurses had struck work for several weeks demanding regularisation of their service, among other demands. This had led to chaos at KIMS and the management had subsequently suspended them.

Reconciliation

The nurses, at a press conference here on Saturday, did a U-turn, saying, they had decided to reconcile with the management and sort out their differences. They said they would tender their apologies to the management and the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, under whom the institute functions.

Kausalya, one of the suspended nurses, said, “We have been working at Kims for a long time. We request the management to withdraw the suspension order and reinstate us.”
Roopa, another nurse, said, “Nursing is a noble profession and we go any extent to help a patient.

The management should be compassionate and take us back.”
The nursers said they would also be meeting the representatives of the Rajya Vokkaligara Sangha, to personally apologise.
