JOIN USDelhi Public School (North) overcame Vidya Niketan Public School, B-56 by 36 runs to clinch the KSCA inter-school under-14 (Division II) tournament for the BT Ramaiah Shield on Thursday.
In a low scoring affair, DPS batted first and could only muster a total of 163 for nine in their 50 overs. None of their batsmen could cross the 25-run mark in an ordinary batting display.
Yashas S (2/29) and Sumukh N Kirani (2/28) were the wreckers-in-chief for Vidya Niketan.
With a modest total to overhaul, Vidya Niketan made a mess of the chase as they folded for 127 in 41.2 overs, falling short of the target by 36 runs.
Ninad P with figures of 3/23 and Tejas Angadi, who picked up 2/27, did most of the damage with the ball for DPS.
Meanwhile, in a Division III league fixture, Mallya Aditi International School scored a massive 214-run win against Jnana Vijnana Vidyapeetha.
Manoveer (120), Ahaan (84) and Aryan Joshi (74) starred for MAIS with the bat as they posted a daunting 392 all out in 44.2 overs.
In response, Vidyapeetha were restricted to 178 for nine. Samit Dravid picked up 3/12 for MAIS.
