JOIN USVote for India's most versatile cosplayer
Every Comic Con Indian edition in Bengaluru has had youngsters queue up in their droves.
But beyond that very apparent obsession with comics, a hitherto unheard of concept has caught everyone’s fancy: Cosplay, where fans dress as their favourite fictional characters.
To take this trend to a competitive global scale, Comic Con India has now announced the “Indian Championships of Cosplay.”
This might just be the chance for local cosplayers to turn professional and get into the big league. For, one of the final 10 winners will be India’s representative at the Annual Crown Championships of Cosplay at Chicago Comics & Entertainment Expo.
Nominations for the winners are now online. Votings are open at comicconindia.com/ICC, where fans could pitch for their favourite cosplayer. Fans could get a glance of each finalist on the website, splashed across in images, videos and write-ups. The eventual winner will compete with champions from the United States, Australia and Europe.
Cosplay has emerged as a big crowd-puller at the Comic Con India shows. From 13 cosplayers at the first-ever convention, Comic Con now attracts over 2,000 cosplayers as the recent Mumbai edition showed.
For the record, voting for the competition closes on January 24. The winner will be announced on January 26 on the website and all social media pages of Comic Con India.
