The High Court of Karnataka on Friday asked the State government what action it has taken on the report submitted by the Registrar of Societies in 2008 pertaining to alleged irregularities in allotment of sites in the City by Karnataka State Judicial Department Employees’ House Building Co-operative Society.
Bye-laws
The report had mentioned that the society itself was not registered as per the Registrar of Societies Act and that it had created bye-laws while allotting of sites.
A division bench comprising Justice Ram Mohan Reddy and Justice H Billappa asked the State government why it still wanted to continue the existence of the society when it had committed so much fraud in site allotment.
The bench observed that it was going to shut down the functioning of the society and directed the State government to submit details about their action taken report and adjourned the hearing till March 4, 2016.
