Sandalwood trees at Press Club stolen

Miscreants felled two sandalwood trees and smuggled the timber from the premises of the Press Club of Bangalore (PCB) early on Friday morning.

According to police, the security guard on night duty was at the entrance of the club till 2 am after which he left the place and the trees had been felled between 2 am and 4 am. The incident came to light when the club workers started cleaning the premises in the morning.

Club president Sridhar has lodged a complaint. The PCB had installed a CCTV camera on its premises, but it had not been functioning for the last few months, police added.
