Be a celebrity for a night

Start-up

Would love to wear a designer outfit, but cannot afford it? You don’t have to, you can just rent it. Based on the idea that many have fashion hopes, Sanchit Baweja and Sabena Puri founded Stage 3, a website, which brings couture collection from fashion designers.

“Some people want to wear what a Bollywood celebrity, or a model on the ramp wore, but most can’t afford it. Also, some feel it’s a waste of money because most of these apparels can only be worn occasionally. This start-up allows its customers to rent a stylised luxury fashion experience for an evening,” Puri tells Metrolife.

Apparel rental websites are common with Swishlist.com, Flyrobe.com and others letting people borrow expensive clothes for a few days. But Stage 3.com has curated looks from India's leading designers such as Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Anamika Khanna and jewellery by Outhouse and Amrapali.

It has an advisory board consisting of top talent from the fashion and e-commerce sectors such as Bollywood celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adjania and Gautam Kalra, official stylist to Lakme Fashion Week and many stars.

“Our leading stylists from the ‘dress up’ business carefully curate outfits from the collections of Indian designers and style it with the right accessories. Customers can browse through the collection on our website, upload their measurements to ensure a good fit, rent a look and get the outfit delivered to them,” says Puri.

Taking input from customers and leveraging prior dressing history, Stage 3 can make personalised recommendations to enhance a customer’s style quotient to match their aspirations.

The rent price tag is 10 per cent of the apparel’s MRP for four days minimum. The
minimum priced designer outfit is for Rs 1, 800. They deliver it two days before the event and on the fourth day, one is supposed to place the return order. There are
other return policies which extend up to a week, according to the customer’s
requirement.
