Man arrested for stealing phones, bags at hospitals

The Malleswaram police have arrested a man for stealing mobile phones and bags from patients, doctors and the staff at KC General Hospital and Victoria Hospital.

The suspect has been identified as Ramakrishna, 39, a resident of 8th Mile near Peenya.

According to the police, Ramakrishna used to visit the hospitals posing as a patient and would roam around the corridors looking for patients who are asleep. Then he would sneak into their rooms and make away with mobile phones and bags.

He also stole the phones of doctors and the hospital staff while they were busy attending to patients.

After many people started complaining about losing their mobile phones and bags, the hospital authorities informed the police. Police examined the CCTV footage at both the hospitals and zeroed in on Ramakrishna. They tracked him down and picked him up for questioning. He confessed to the crime, the police added.
