Precautionary measures in place for Invest Karnataka meet

As the City is gearing up to host Invest Karnataka-2016, Karnataka Disaster Management Authority in coordination with other government departments has taken necessary precautionary steps to tackle any emergencies during the mega global meet scheduled to be held from February 3 to 5.

Elaborate arrangements have been made – at the venue and also where the delegates and investors will be put up – to tackle crisis such as stampede, fire accidents and hoax bomb calls among others.

Officials of the various departments – Police, Health, Bescom, Revenue, BWSSB, Fire and Emergency Services – have held several meetings to chalk out security arrangements to ensure a trouble-free culmination of the event.

A preparatory meeting was held in the City on Friday in which Deputy Commissioner V Shankar directed the officials concerned to start work with the roles assigned to them.

Communication arrangements will be made by the ACP control room, Traffic DCP (West), which was assigned traffic management, department of fire and emergency services will look after the fire and emergency situation. While Bescom has to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the event the Health department has to make arrangements to tackle medical emergencies.
