Two PSIs suspended for fighting in public

Two police sub-inspectors (PSIs) at Hanumanthanagar police station were on Tuesday suspended for indulging in a brawl in full public view on Monday evening.

PSIs Ganesh Kumar and Lingappa are the suspended police officers. Also, a departmental enquiry has been ordered and appropriate action will be initiated against the officers based on the inquiry report, said a police officer.

Lingappa had summoned a woman for inquiry on the basis of a complaint. However, the woman told Lingappa that she had some health issues and sought permission to go home. Kumar, who had gone to High Court on an official work, returned to the station at the same time and vented his anger against the woman directing her not to go home. He also objected Lingappa for letting her go. Lingappa, irked by Ganesh’s remarks, asked him to mind his business, leading to a fight, according to the police.
