Dadwal cites health as reason for resignation

Former Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal, who quit as adviser to Arunachal Pradesh Governor J P Rajkhowa, first applied for leave that was granted but he changed his mind soon after and resigned.

After the Home Ministry received his resignation citing health reasons, officials said, it was accepted.

Dadwal along with retired IAS officer G S Patnaik was appointed as advisers on January 26 soon after Arunachal Pradesh was put under President’s Rule.

According to officials, the former IPS officer, whose back problems aggravated, applied for leave initially, which granted by the Governor.

Later, Dadwal changed his mind and sent his resignation letter to the Home Ministry, which was accepted by Rajnath Singh, Home Ministry spokesperson K S Dhatwalia said.
Reports quoting a statement of Arunachal Pradesh Raj Bhawan had said that Dadwal has gone on leave for 10 days on health grounds with permission to avail holidays for another four days as requested.

Following Dadwal’s resignation, B D Sharma, who recently retired as chief of SSB, has been appointed as advisor to the governor in place of Dadwal.
