Last Updated 14 February 2010, 16:38 IST

Atkinson visited Kotla in the afternoon and inspected the pitch besides holding discussions with Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) officials and the local curator.
He also took some photographs of the pitch during his inspection.

Asked about the pitch, Atkinson said he wouldn’t like to comment right now. “I visited the pitch today and had a thorough inspection. We are in the process of a making a detailed report to the BCCI and ICC and so I don’t think it’s the right time to comment,” Atkinson said.

Atkinson’s visit is part of a process to make the Kotla pitch of international   standard ahead of next year’s World Cup, which will be co-hosted by India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Kotla is scheduled to host four World Cup matches during the February 19-March 30 mega-event. ICC had slapped a one-year ban on the Kotla, because of an unfit pitch.
