Being eco-friendly is flavour of the season at the Auto Expo 2016. Despite several auto makers launching diesel guzzling sports utility vehicles (SUVs), environment-friendly vehicles like bicycles and segways were a big hit at the event.

A range of folding bicycles by Firefox Bikes, called Tern, is huge attraction at the show. These can be carried around in buses, cars or the metro. Tern weighs around 12.4 kg and can be used by a person weighing a maximum of 110 kg, and costs Rs 30,000. These imported bikes will be sold in the Indian market by Firefox, Firefox Marketing Head Ajit Gandhi told Deccan Herald.

“The folding range is easy to keep in living rooms and the parking lot. The folding cycle is a solution to the problem of space as it can be carried to any place easily,” he said. Firefox also announced co-branding of its bikes with lifestyle brand Swiss Military. The company is also planning to launch the new models by the middle of this year, between the price range of Rs 12,000 and Rs 20,000.
