Defending champions U Mumba, inspired by skipper Anup Kumar, put in a good all-round show to ease past Dabang Delhi 30-17 in a league tie of the Pro Kabaddi League at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Friday.

The Mumbai side started favourites against bottom placed Delhi and received further encouragement from the 3000 spectators, as chants of 'U Mumba' resonated through the stadium.

Both sides began cautiously with a strong defensive showing as the raiders couldn't get a look in during the initial few minutes.

In a frenetic three minutes, Anup began to show his class as he scored freely on his raids while Mohit Chhillar was rock solid in defence.

Within eight minutes, Delhi were condemned to an all-out and Mumba took a convincing 10-2 lead. It continued to be a one-way contest as Delhi floundered by making school-boy errors, the most prominent being South Korean Seong Ryeol Kim being sent off the mat after receiving a cant out.

Delhi's miserable half was ended with the scores on 16-7 in favour of U Mumba.
The highlight of the first half was U Mumba's defensive tactics against the dangerous Kashiling Adake, who looked a mere shadow of his efficient self.

Mumba came out all guns blazing after the break and continued to dominate a lacklustre Delhi side, who seemed resigned to their fate.

Rishank Devadiga stepped up and the raider collected points with ease to further widen the gap between the sides.

In the 33rd minute, Delhi were all-out once again as Mumba capitalised on a porous defence.

With the scores at 28-12, there was no way back for Delhi, though they did throw everything they had to avoid further embarrassment and were eventually put out of their misery with the scoreboard reading 30-17.

Devadiga top scored with eight points while Anup and Chhillar scored six and five each to complete the rout.

The result leaves Delhi rooted to the bottom of the table with four losses in four games while U Mumba have collected ten points from three games having won two and lost one.
