Lok Adalat from Feb 13

The Karnataka State Legal Services Authority will organise monthly National Lok Adalats from February to September 2016 across the State. 

The adalat will be held in 15 districts - Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Ramanagara, Chitradurga, Davangere, Kolar, Chikkaballapura, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, Belagavi, Haveri, Bagalakot, Uttara Kannada, Dharwad and Gadag on February 21 and on February 13 in the remaining districts.

As per the schedule, on February 13 matters related to bank, Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, recovery suits etc (pending and prelitigation matters) will be heard. On March 12, matters related to civil and revenue cases; on April 9, matters related to labour and family; on June 11, MACT (motor accident claims tribunal) and insurance claims; on July 9, matters related to electricity, water, telephone, public utility disputes; on August 13, matter related to Section 138 of Negotiable Instruments Act, recovery suits etc (pending and prelitigation matters); on September 10, matters related to criminal compoundable matters and on October 8,  matters related to traffic and  municipal matters will be heard. In the National Lok Adalat held between February and December 2015, a total of 2,97,537 pending cases and 34,59,796 pre-litigation cases were heard and a total of 37,57,330 disputes were settled. An amount of Rs 1,91,74,00,175 was settled in 2015.
