Vandals damage seven vehicles

Seven vehicles – two bikes, two cars, two autorickshaws and a Tempo Traveller were damaged by unidentified vandals on Anjaneya Temple Road at Uttarahalli, early on Wednesday morning.

The police said that around 2.30 am, the residents heard a loud noise and when they came out of their houses, they noticed the windshields, headlights and rear-view mirrors of the vehicles damaged. 

There were also dents possibly caused by stones

The residents told the police that they saw four men astride two bikes damaging the vehicles parked outside houses.

The jurisdictional Subramanyapura police have registered a case and the investigations are on.

Cabbie killedA 23-year-old cab driver died and two passengers suffered injuries after the car they were travelling by rammed into a median and hit a lightpole near Borewell junction on Old Airport Road early on Wednesday morning.

The police gave the name of the deceased as Soma Nayaka, a resident of Peenya.

The injured are Aditya Sharma and Zubiullah Shariff, employees of a call centre.

Around 4.30 am, Nayaka, who was driving the car, was on his way to drop the
 employees off at their homes. As he reached the Borewell junction, he lost control of the car and crashed into the median before hitting the lightpole.

Passersby rushed a grievously injured Nayaka and the two passengers to a nearby hospital where Nayak was declared brought dead.
 The passengers are said to be out of danger.

Woman robbed An elderly woman on her morning walk was relieved of her 150-gm gold chain by two unidentified bike-borne men in Nandini Layout on Wednesday morning.

According to the police, Yashodamma, 55, a resident of Nandini Layout, was walking along the road around 6 am, when the two men stopped their motorcycle and asked her for a street address. 

While Yashodamma was giving directions, the pillion rider snatched her gold chain and the duo sped away. She raised an alarm but in vain. 

Passersby informed the police who visited the spot and registered a case.
