Last Updated 18 February 2016, 18:15 IST

Reacting to the statements of actor-turned politician Ramya, who had said that Janata Dal (Secular) leaders had been disrespecting women, MP C S Puttaraju said, “There are a dozen women in our family and I need not learn how to respect women from Ramya.”

‘Not afraid’

Replying to a query on Ramya’s allegations, here, on Thursday, Puttaraju said, “Ramya has told the media that the JD(S) leaders are targeting her personally and are under fear due to her touring of the district. The party has fought against politicians like S M Krishna, G Madegowda and other Congress bigwigs in the district. There is no question of being afraid of Ramya.”

“Moreover, our family is involved in quarrying since decades. I have not entered politics recently and do not come from the film industry,” he said and warned of exposing the Congress’ scams (bandavala) after the polls.
