All preparations, barring minor works, have been made to host the 10th three-day Maha Kumbh Mela, scheduled to begin from Saturday, in T Narasipur, Mysuru district.

Though the works were delayed due to the second phase of Zilla and Taluk Panchayat polls also being held on February 20, the authorities concerned had expedited the works, which were nearing completion on Friday itself.

The Agasthyeshwara Swamy temple has been given a whitewash. Illumination arrangements have been made on the route that connects Triveni Sangama. A mantap is being erected in the centre of the sangama and also kuteeras (makeshift tents), drinking water facilities, temporary toilets, changing rooms and others have been made for the benefit of devotees, who arrive to take holy dip at the confluence during the three-day mela.

The actual holy dip (Mahodaya punyasnana) is scheduled to be held at an auspicious time on February 22 and a large number of people are expected on the day. Parking arrangements have been made on all the four sides of the sangama.
