5-day book fair from February 24

 To mark the centenary celebrations of the State Central Library in Cubbon Park, a five-day book fair would be held at Ravindra Kalakshetra from February 24. 

Addressing a press conference on Saturday,  president, Kannada Book Authority (KBA), Dr Banjagere Jayaprakash said:  “There will be a minimum 15 percent discount on all books. Around 70 stalls will display Kannada books of various genres.’’

Kannada and Culture Minister Umashree and Minister of State for Primary and Secondary Education Kimmane Ratnakar are expected to inaugurate the event.

KBA has organised a literary session on various issues during the book mela besides cultural programmes every evening. Schools and colleges that take part in large numbers will be gifted more than 100 books.

Director, Department of Public Libraries, Satish Kumar S  Hosamani, said they plan to hold the National Library Week soon. The entry to the book fair is free and the timings are from 10.30 am till 8.30 pm on all the five days.
