The exchange of ideas pertaining to good practices in the civic administration between the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) can benefit the citizens of the two cities in a big way, said Hyderabad Mayor B Ramamohan on Saturday.

Ramamohan expressed his views during a meeting with Bengaluru Mayor B N Manjunath Reddy and senior Palike officials.

The Hyderabad Mayor was in the City along with GHMC Commissioner Dr B Janardana Reddy and Chief Engineer K Suresh Kumar to study TenderSURE projects, solid waste management and various development works in Bengaluru. He discussed property tax collection and the use of information technology to enhance public services.

The GHMC’s model of Akrama-Sakrama or regularisation of buildings which do not conform with the law, was also discussed at the meeting.
