Kumaraswamy should apologise: Poojary

Former Union minister B Janardhan Poojary has said that former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy should seek an apology from the people of the state for levelling false allegations against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday, he said “There is nothing wrong on the part of Siddaramaiah with regard to the wrist watch he received. Siddaramaiah has disclosed that the watch was gifted to him by a friend.”

Lashing out at former Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, who levelled allegations against Siddaramaiah in connection with the Hublot watch, Poojary said the former chief minister and the son of former Prime Minister should speak responsibly.

He said that, instead, Kumaraswamy was attempting to pass comments that would help him gain political mileage.

“The BJP leaders have no right to speak against the Hublot watch of Chief Minister. The leaders did not question Prime Minister Narendra Modi for wearing an expensive suit of Rs 10 lakh last year,” Poojary pointed out.

The former minister said that the district administration has failed to manage the sand mining effectively.

“Without the availability of sand, the construction works have come to a halt. It has affected even the laying of concrete roads,” he complained.
