Spring is the season for cleaning and pampering your skin as warmer weather means ditching your sweaters and showing off more skin. So, to help you get a healthy skin this season, cosmetic dermatologist and beauty expert Dr Meghna Gupta, director at Delhi Skin Centre, shares some tips with Metrolife.

Moisturise:

Now that summer is on its way, our skin faces a new set of drying factors. So stop using the thick moisturiser that you were using in winter. Instead, switch to lightweight and gel moisturiser for better results.

Prepare for hair removal: Winter is a time when one pays lesser attention to body hair. Consult a skilled dermatologist and go for laser hair removal.

Use sunscreen: Spring is a season when you feel like roaming around in the sun. But do remember that those UV rays may damage your skin. So before stepping out in sun, apply sunscreen half an hour before you head outside and reapply in every two hours or less.

Eat the spring fruits: Your diet can make a huge difference on your overall skin health. This season gives you a lot more options when it comes to fruits like strawberries, avocados that are loaded with Vitamin E and antioxidants. Citrus fruits like orange and lemon have plenty of Vitamin C. Grapes have vitamin C in addition to bioflavonoid and antioxidants. These are good for healthy hair
and skin.

Be hydrated: The first rule for healthy skin is to keep hydrated. If you are dehydrated, your skin will not get enough moisture that it needs. So do remember to drink eight to 10 glasses of water for proper hydration.
