Commemorating Kannada Cinema Day, the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy will on Thursday confer lifetime awards on as many as 10 persons who have contributed significantly to the Kannada film industry.
The award carries a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and a citation. The R Nagendra Rao award will be conferred on S K Padmadevi (acting), the oldest surviving woman theatre artiste of Karnataka.
Among others are: film director Josaiman, H N Muddukrishna (producer), Rathnam (music), B A Madhu (singing), B S Basavaraju (cinematography), Babji - Srinivas Pictures, Gadag (distributor), Arugma (technology), Jaijagadish (villain) and Richard Castelino (regional language).
