The Subramanyapura police have arrested two history-sheeters who set vehicles on fire to create fear among locals at Gowdanapalya in the City.

The arrested have been identified as Jagan alias Elumalai, 27 and Ranjith alias Moni, 29, both residents of Gowdanapalya. The other suspects, Sunil alias Bomman and Prashanth alias Vandre, are absconding. All the four history-sheeters were out on bail.

According to the police, the incident occurred at around 2.30 am on February 26. The suspects went to Gowdanapalya and set on fire three bikes and an autorickshaw, after which they fled the spot.

The vehicles were parked outside a house. Hearing the commotion, the owners of the vehicles came out of their homes and noticed the suspects fleeing. Though the fire was doused, the vehicles were charred. The police examined CCTV footages, gathered information about the suspects and made the arrests. Jagan and Ranjith confessed to committing the crime.

They also revealed that two of their friends Sunil and Prashanth were also involved in the incident, the police said. The suspects, also involved in a murder case, have been booked for a similar offence in KS Layout police station, the police said.
