Students rising in India, says JNU leader Shehla Rashid (Video)

JNU student leader Shehla Rashid was in Bengaluru last week meeting the media and students, explaining what was happening in the country’s premier  social science university.

In a video interview with DH, Shehla took on the anti-national label JNU students have been slapped with. “We are not the demons we are made out to be,” she said.

She put the blame on BJP, including those in responsible positions, for spreading lies about JNU. Standing up for JNU is standing up for the constitution, women, secularism, democracy and the poor, she said.

Shehla said students of different universities from Delhi to Allahabad were coming together spontaneously thanks to the policies of the Modi government. She also attacked BJP for treating nationalism as the new communalism to get votes in the coming elections.
