Last Updated 14 March 2016, 20:01 IST

In almost all the cartoons on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, the one thing that is depicted prominently is his crooked nose.

And on Monday, Akhilesh revealed that he did try to get it fixed but could not do so as he was already married, indicating that he did not require an attractive nose after his marriage.

The chief minister was speaking at a function here after releasing a book entitled “Tipu ka Afsana” (the story of Tipu, Akhilesh's nickname) containing a depiction of his political journey through the cartoons.

“I was taken to a doctor to fix the nose but he asked if I was married and on receiving an affirmative reply he said that surgery was not needed as I was already married,” Akhilesh said at a press conference here on Monday.

Akhilesh said he suffered an injury during a football match and broke his nose. The book by a New York based cartoonist Frank Huzur, contained a large number of cartoons on Akhilesh from past few years.

“While many of the cartoons do convey the right message there are also many which are not correct.....but I always want to know about my defects and shortcomings,” the chief minister added.

He said that the book did not have all the cartoons made on him. “I feel that there may be at least two more volumes of the book if all the cartoons made on me are compiled,” Akhilesh remarked.
