InfoComm International, the apex body of global audiovisual and ICT industry, stated that the sector will register 20% growth in the current year to reach $5.4 billion.

“As per the InfoComm AV Market Definition and Strategy Study for India, the AV market has grown from $2 billion in 2012 to $3.7 billion in 2014. It is projected to reach $5.4 billion by the end of this year,” said InfoComm International Executive Director and CEO David P Labuskes.

Labuskes said that Digital India and smart cities will pave the way for more application of audiovisual and ICT technologies in India.

“Adequate exposure to ICT, understanding and leveraging the benefits of ICT at various levels will play an important role in the whole process. Here Infocomm International will play a major role in bringing values in the sphere of education, resources and events,” he said.

Virginia-headquartered InfoComm International is a non-profit organisation with 5,000 members, and presence in 66 countries.

InfoComm recently entered into an MoU with Computer Society of India for developing audiovisual workforce in India for bridging the skill gap. The trade body will be organising a series of classroom training, networking sessions, technical seminar, trade show and convention in Mumbai from September 12 to 14.
