JOIN USIndia’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) is on a dealership expansion course in Bengaluru, with several Maruti showrooms expected to dot the City in the coming months.
Varun Motors, a large dealer partner of MSIL throughout Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, opened its first showroom in Bengaluru on Monday, along with a service centre and a True Value outlet. This opening marks Varun Motors’ 23rd showroom, 29th service centre, and 15th True Value outlet.
According to Varun Group Chairman V Prabhu Kishore, “The new dealership will provide new car sales, service, body shop repairs and spares, apart from exchange and financial support.” The company claims sales of 30,000 cars a year, apart from service of 3 lakh cars.
Addressing delegates at the showroom opening, Maruti Suzuki India Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) T Hashimoto said that the strategy is to get close to the customer.
Varun Motors is the ninth dealer partner that Maruti has in Bengaluru. “Today, Bengaluru has around 26 showrooms from nine dealers, which are Mandovi Motors, Bimal Auto Agency, Kalyani Motors, Pratham Motors, RNS Motors, Sagar Automobiles, Garuda Autocraft, Suraksha Car Care, and now, Varun Motors. Apart from the said Maruti Suzuki showrooms, there are four Nexa outlets. In the coming months, we expect Ahmedabad-based Kataria Automobiles to open two dealerships here,” an industry source told Deccan Herald.
In terms of Karnataka, the source added that there are over 35 main MSIL showrooms, across Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Udupi, Shivamogga, Tumakuru, Davanagere, Hubballi, Ballari, Hosapete, and Kalaburagi, besides six Nexa showrooms, and a host of E outlets (in emerging markets) and R outlets (in rural areas).
In India, the carmaker has around 1,800 outlets, across 1,500 towns and cities.
