JOIN USThe police are awaiting the report from Forensic Science Laboratory to ascertain whether the orthopaedician who drove his Mercedes rashly, killing a person on Sunday, was under the influence of alcohol or any narcotic substance.
Rizwan alias Ahmed Khan (52) of Anjaneya Temple Street on Byrasandra main road was killed on the spot and his wife Mohsina Begum (45) suffered multiple fractures after the car driven by Dr N H Shankar knocked down their two-wheeler.
“Rizwan was the sole breadwinner of the family.Now he is no more and the future of the family is uncertain. His wife Mohsina is still in the hospital” said Syed, relative of Rizwan. The couple, residents of Byrasandra, were working as tailors and owned a shop in the same area.
“Rizwan and Mohsina were working day and night to make ends meet. They have two children who have completed PU. Now it seems like they should take the burden of the family at a young age. It will take a long time for Mohsina to recover” added Syed.
Mohsina is being treated at Sanjay Gandhi hospital and on Tuesday she was shifted to general ward from the ICU.
