JOIN USThe Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY), which was earlier implemented by the Labour department, will henceforth fall under the purview of the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Addressing a press conference in the City on Wednesday, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, U T Khader said that the scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Labour and Development has been transfered to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Further, the state government took a call to shift this scheme from the Labour department to the Health department.
“The scheme will be implemented by the Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust which has been entrusted the responsibility of the other health schemes as well,” he added.
Under the scheme, 1,516 packages are provided to the beneficiaries. As many as 537 private hospitals and 269 government hospitals have been empanelled to be service providers across the State according to Khader.
