JOIN USA two-year-old girl was run over by a Tempo Traveller at Venkatappa Layout near Hebbal on Tuesday morning.
The victim has been identified as Siddamma, a native of Kalaburagi. According to the police, Siddamma was residing with her parents Balappa and Nagavva, both construction labourers, in a makeshift shed.
On Tuesday morning, Siddamma was playing on the roadside when the driver of the Tempo Traveller, who had parked the vehicle on the road, reversed it.
He did not notice Siddamma and the vehicle ran over her.
On hearing Siddamma’s screams, her parents and neighbours rushed to find her severely injured. They shifted her to a private hospital but was declared brought dead.
A complaint was lodged with the police who visited the spot. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled, police said.
