With the summer heat hitting Bengalureans quite harshly, it’s important that one takes extra care of their skin, and keep away the acne. Here are a few tips to keep your skin clean and shining.

* Cover up: Keep yourself covered with large hats and sunglasses. It’s important to protect yourself from the UV rays. Stay in the shade as much as possible.

* Apply sunscreen: Choose the sunscreen that suits your skin-type. It’s better to choose something that is water-based and non-oily quality lotion. Apply it every 2 hours for better protection.

* Cleanse regularly: Avoid rubbing your skin too much when cleansing. Always tap it with dry towel after that. Apply a thin coat of lotion after washing your face.

* Wear light make-up: It’s better to avoid as much make-up as you can this season. Avoid thick creams like foundation and several layers of products.

*  Drink water: Keep your body hydrated and healthy with plenty of water. Keep a reminder on your phone every hour to drink water. One needs to consume 8 to 10 glasses of water every day.

* Shower regularly: Sweat can easily irritate your acne. So whenever you sweat, get into the shower as soon as possible. It’ll help reduce the severity of breakouts.

* Control temptation: It’s natural to want to touch your face often, but it only transfers oil, dirt and sometimes even germs. Try to keep hand away from your face this season.

* Watch what you eat:Try to avoid food that is rich in oil. Instead, take in food that is rich in proteins and Vitamin A. Add fresh fruits and vegetables to your diet.
