Jain stays with his family close to his jewellery shop. He would return home around 10.30 pm every day. The robbers gained entry inside the house when Jain’s wife, son and daughter were at the house while Jain was at his shop, said the police.

One of the robbers brandished a revolver and threatened to open fire if the trio raised an alarm. They tied hands and legs of all the three and started searching for money. But, they got just Rs 30,000. Around that time Jain returned home carrying jewellery worth Rs 6 lakh and Rs 6 lakh cash in a bag. He grew suspicious seeing some men in the house and asked them who they were. The miscreants dragged him inside and threatened to open fire. They hit him on his head when he resisted their efforts, added the police. They snatched his bag and escaped, said the police.

He entered inside the house and noticed that his wife and children were tied. He set them free and lodged a complaint with the police.

The complainant claimed that the suspects were middle-aged and were conversing in Hindi. The police verified CCTV footage, but there was no vehicular movement around that time. The police have decided to question Jain further to get clarity, stated the police.
