He was speaking to reporters here on Friday during his first visit to his native place after taking oath as Union Minister of State for Railways.

Muniyappa said he would assume office in the first week of June. He promised to bring more railway projects to the region where works on several projects are already in progress.

Muniyappa attributed his victory in the elections to the hard work and commitment of the party workers, block presidents in Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts.

The minister said he would tour the entire constituency to express his gratitude to the electorate for voting in his favour during the recently concluced Lok Sabha elections. He said people can submit their memorandums and air their grievances.

He said he is indebted to voters of Gangenahalli in the constituency who cast their votes in his favour as a gesture of gratitude for having sanctioned them the road works. The minister revealed that three more such villages will be given special gifts.
