Builders, apartment residents at loggerheads

Last Updated 15 April 2016, 20:35 IST

A long-standing dispute between residents of Ajmera Infinity apartments on Neeladri Road and the builder took an ugly turn on Friday with both the parties lodging complaints against each other at Electronics City police station.

According to the police, the builder of Ajmera Infinity had acquired a piece of land next to the apartment a couple of years ago and constructed villas. After selling the villas, they told the owners of the villas that they could use the amenities at the apartment. Residents of the apartment opposed the move as they had paid the money for the amenities. The residents and the builder had a tiff and the matter was taken to the court.

The residents had built a boundary wall between the villas and apartment, but the builder demolished it. The residents again built the wall, which was also razed by the builders.

Residents claimed that a couple of days ago, some gun-toting goons hired by the builder had come to the apartment, a senior police officer said. “Residents have lodged a complaint with us. But they are not ready to share the video footage of the incident,” he said. The matter is being investigated, he added.
