Liquor sale banned on April 21, 22

Sale of liquor will be banned on April 20 and 21 in view of procession of around 35 idols, which will be taken out as part of the car festival of Muthyalamma Devi. 

About 25,000 devotees are likely to take part in the procession. To prevent untoward incidents, the sale of liquor has been banned,  City Police Commissioner N S Megharik said in a release.

All types of bars, wine shops and all other outlets in Pulikeshinagar, Bharathinagar, Shivajinagar, Commercial Street and DJ Halli police limits and JC Nagar will be closed between 10 am on April 20 and 1 pm on April 21. However, the CL-4 club, CL-6 star hotels and CL-8 military canteens are exempted from the ban.
